This is a Japanese tradition. This is theatre. Drama. Dance. Elaborate stage, a flower path, extending into the audience. Get ready for dramatic entrances, amazing masks, colorful, astounding dresses. Get ready for KABUKI! Kabuki is a type of classical Japanese theathre. It dates back 415 years, when women, in 1603, started performing a new style of dance drama. It is associated with colorful masks and dresses. It is sometimes interpreted as “avant-garde” or “bizarre” theatre. The individual symbols (kanji) read sing, dance and skill, so Kabuki is sometimes interpreted as “the art of singing and dancing”. You can purchase Kabuki, or many more different types and styles of Otamatone here, in our shop. Enjoy!
